The varsity boys soccer team continued their perfect season on May 5 by routing the Louisa County Lions 11-0. The Warriors improve to 12-0 on the season, while the Lions dropped to 0-11. The Warriors led 8-0 at halftime, before scoring another three goals in the second half and ending the game by mercy rule.

Western has won eight straight games by at least four goals, the last one by less than four was in a 1-0 win over the Albemarle Patriots. Western has four more games in the regular season, before moving on to the Jefferson District Tournament. The team looks forward to the chance to compete for a district championship. This would be their fourth straight District championship.

of their district games, both to Albemarle, the team currently holds a 10-2 record. The team is younger than it has been in the past, since it lost a large amount of seniors last year. This year the team worked hard to play to their new dynamic, and did so successfully. Originally considered a rebuilding season, this year has turned out victoriously. The graduating seniors include Sarah Grupp, Alexis Hucek, Rachel Cooke, and Fiona Fittro. The majority of the team will be returning next year.
