The boys lacrosse team made their appearance known in the conference, crushing Fluvanna and moving on to play in the finals. Tuesday night, the boys crushed Monticello 16-8 to take the spot as conference champs. Luke Reilly, Oliver Herndon, and Carter Elliott are three juniors who have made a huge impact on the team as skillful players under the leadership of captains, Nick Crissey and Sumner Corbett.

With a large team filled with varying skill sets, Carter Elliott spoke of the teamwork displayed, “I think for any team at the start, it’s hard to bond among each other, but when we’re on the field together, sweating and working hard, that’s when we truly mesh together with our shared desire to win.” The team begins regional play next Tuesday and the true test to see if the team is better than last year will begin as they strive to make it past state semifinals.

The girls varsity lacrosse team also had a strong season this year posting a record of 6-3 in the regular season and playoffs so far. They advanced past Charlottesville in the first round of conferences with a huge win at home. The Warriors lost to Monticello 11-13 in the conference final. They will play in the regional tournament on Saturday, hoping to survive all the way into the state championship at Liberty University on June 13th.
