WAHS Boys Swimming Places 2nd at Ben Hair Memorial Meet

The Western Albemarle boys swimming team came in second in the recent Ben Hair Memorial meet. The meet was at the local Aquatic Fitness Center at the University of Virginia.

The Warriors finished behind Albemarle High School, who took first place.

In the Men’s 200 Yard Medley Relay, Aaron James, AJ Donovan, Matt Mandell, and Marcus Van Clief got third place for the Warriors. Aaron James finished in second place in the Men’s 50 Yard Freestyle and third in the Men’s 100 yard freestyle.

Western participated in a dual meet against Blacksburg High School this Friday. It was held at the Smith pool in Charlottesville City. The Warriors performed well and came away with a victory.

The next meet for WAHS is against Heritage and Albemarle on Saturday, January 17th. The Warriors will look to get payback for Albemarle’s win in the Ben Hair Memorial meet.
