Glee Club Lifts Up New Voices
The leaders of the glee club are Erin Nelson, Liz Jahoda-Wassung, and Tristan Rose. The club aims to sing and dance as a group. Liz Jahoda-Wassung, a sophomore, said, “we’re hoping that everybody just has fun and that there’s a chance for everybody to get out there and make friends.”
Erin Nelson, a senior, said that, “I started this club because after Mr.B’s passing, it felt like music had disappeared for a while. I wanted to do something for anyone who doesn’t feel like they want to join Wacapella or take choir class because they have to get a grade for that. So like the outcasts of music can get together and get to sing and do what they love.” They held auditions on September 26, mainly to determine the vocal ranges of members. On October 1st, they held their first meeting in the choir room at lunch and have had regular meetings on every other Tuesday since. At the homecoming game tailgate, the Glee Club organized the lip sync battle booth. At the booth, students could select songs to lip sync to and compete with their friends.
