Boys and Girls Cross Country Teams Dominate in Regional Championship

This week in Lexington, Virginia, both the Western Albemarle boys and girls cross country teams won the 3C region championships.
The girls team was lead by senior Zoe Clay. Clay ran the course in 18:26 and finished first overall. Other notable performances came from runners Alyssa Santoro-Adajian, who finished fourth with a time of 19:17 and Emily Winder, who finished sixth with a time of 20:09
In the boys race, sophomore, Joe Hawkes took first place with a time of 15:51. Freshman Joseph Taylor and Senior Max Miller also finished in the top ten of the boys race. Taylor crossed the finish line in 16:33 and Miller finished in 17:13.
The girls and boys team will compete in the 3A state meet at Great Meadow in The Plains on November 11.
