(Fall)ing for Sweaters
Bundle up this season with your favorite sweaters
As the crisp, but not quite cold weather starts to arrive, it’s time for girls to look in their closets and find those fall essentials. Leaves are changing colors and apple-picking is starting, but aren’t our sweater choices more important?
There are so many different styles of sweaters that it’s hard to choose just a few. But, let’s break it down into the top sweaters and cardigans of the season. First, we have the cropped sweaters that bring a little hint of summer into the thick, comfy look. This sweater typically stops right below the belly button and looks great with high-waisted distressed boyfriend jeans and booties.
Next, we have the oversized, baggy sweater that’s super comfy but also really cute when worn with the right type of jeans. Since these sweaters are pretty big, it’s a fun look to have them paired with tight skinny jeans tucked into boots. These baggy sweaters come in many different styles, all the way from a quilted pattern, to a textured ombre.
Let’s move on to the versatile cardigan that becomes a girl’s best friend with the cool weather. It’s light, comfortable, and can be paired with so many different items. Lately, 80s styled thick cardigans with pockets and buttons, patterned or plain, have re-entered the fashion world. Anyone else think Goodwill might be loaded up with some? Anyway, they are a little longer and because of the length and weight, can be paired with your favorite light, airy dress and boots. If you aren’t feeling a dress, cardigans always go great with a tank top or your favorite casual tee paired with a skirt or jeans.
In addition to these retro cardigans, there are ones with hoods that bring a little bit of sass and street to an outfit. These look great with your favorite sneakers and ripped jeans. It’s more of a relaxed, don’t-mess-with-me kind of outfit, but still super stylish.
With fall, comes sweater choices galore. But let’s be honest, it’s pretty exciting. How can looking cute and being warm at the same time ever be a bad thing?
