WAHS Volleyball Continues to Impress

Alex Lehmbeck

The Western Albemarle Warriors varsity volleyball team has enjoyed a successful season so far. Their record right now stands at 12 wins, five losses, and two ties. The Warriors have won three straight games, all with a score of 3-0. Their most recent win, a domination against Orange County, proved the Warriors are a powerhouse team in the Jefferson District.

WAHS hasn’t lost a match since September 23rd, when they were defeated by the rivaled Albemarle Patriots. The Warriors will look for revenge on Tuesday, October 20th, when they play the Patriots on the road. Until then, the Warriors will have to face Monticello and Fluvanna County away, and Powhatan at home. They beat Monticello and Fluvanna in the first matchups, but fell to Powhatan. The Warrior squad certainly has experience on their side, as half of the fourteen players on the roster are seniors.
