It’s an average week, but the school is abuzz with anticipation of the upcoming Friday. Singing valentines are approaching!

“I think that it is one of the most fun days of the year,” said Susan Lohr, a math teacher at Western.

Although some teachers may dislike the interruption, most of them will be giving the students worksheets or independent work that allow for the students to receive valentines without the class being disrupted.

“As long as we [the teachers] have a heads up and we can plan for it, I don’t think that it is an issue.” said Brian Ball a science teacher at WAHS.

Also, the students are looking forward to the easier and more exciting day on Friday.

“I think that they [singing valentines] are pretty fun- they break up the school day.” said Emily Pappas, a junior, when asked about singing valentines.

The lack of intense school work is a reasonable cause for enthusiasm among most students. However, some students are dreading the embarrassment of receiving a valentine. Those who have a strong aversion towards receiving one can sign up in the office to ensure a day free of embarrassment.
