What’s That Hole?

Why, it’s just a new filtration system

Many students have recently noticed a huge ditch in the back of the school for a couple of weeks now. Although students would love to think that a pool is being built for their swimming pleasure, the actual purpose of this ditch is much less exciting, but arguably more important than a swimming pool. The pond in the back of the school will serve as a filtration system for the run-off water from the school.

It will separate the oils and chemicals that come from the school’s water so that fresh clean water can flow back into the nearby streams. Even though this school will not be able to reach the height of luxury with a backyard swimming pool, this new filtration will reduce the impact that Western’s facilities have on the environment.
