On Wednesday, November 13th, thirteen Western senior athletes signed to Division I schools across the nation. Two athletes signed for women’s lacrosse, five for swimming and diving, four for track and field, one for women’s golf, and one for women’s soccer. 

Gigi Hathaway, a 2024 All State player, signed to play lacrosse at Xavier University. A 2024 U.S. Lacrosse All-American player, Mclean Stokes signed to Dartmouth College. 

Thomas Heilman, Western’s Olympian, signed to the University of Virginia for swimming. Women’s 500 meter freestyle record holder Lucy Nicholson signed to swim at the University of Towson, and All-American swimmer Richard Wang signed to Fordham University. Caitlin Bernard signed to dive at Virginia Military Institute. Jack Hathaway signed to swim at Loyola University of Maryland.

2024 State Champion Anders Felts and Sadie Adams, a nationally ranked runner, both signed to run track at the University of Virginia, and Connor Rittenhouse signed to run track at Davidson College. Raina Fitzgerald, the current record holder for Western girls’ outdoor pole vaulting, signed to the College of William & Mary. 

2022 VSGA’s Junior Golfer of the Year, Elsie MacCleery signed to the University of Virginia. Last but not least, Reese Coggeshall signed to Longwood University to play soccer.
