Singing Valentines 2014
February 24, 2014
February is without a doubt the bleakest month of the school year. The cold and the snow are no longer a novelty. The AP tests are approaching yet there seems to be no light at the end of the tunnel. That’s why Singing Valentines are such a sacred tradition at WAHS. From “Brown Eyed Girl” to “Beautiful Soul”, this year was no disappointment.
This year’s two acoustic groups seemed to be fan favorites at lunch. Spencer Elliott, Ilo Zak, Michael Nafziger, Joe Squillace and Deven Barkley sang the classic “Brown Eyed Girl” with appropriate floral button downs to match. Another group of upperclassmen boys: Christian Cullinan, Chris Ferguson, Jake Lee, Ian McKechnie, Ryan Jones, Hunter Weis, Nick Drapanas, did a rendition of the Temptations’ “I Can’t Help Myself” while dressed in white oxfords and bow-ties. Another memorable highlight was Austin Gadient’s manic performance of Rick Astley’s “Never Gonna Give You Up.”
