Western Crew’s second Regatta recap
This past Regatta was an exciting one for Western Crew. With the team out in the waters of the Occoquan River, all rowers were trying their best, hoping to learn and win together.
Team Captains Erin Heald and Owen Coleman both excelled, each one medaling in an event. Erin was given a Medal for first place in the Single Race, and Owen, first place in doubles. His rowing “double” in this event was a student from Albemarle.
With Western excelling in the waters of away rivers, it has become very exciting to look forward to something new in the season, a home Regatta. This November, Western will hold a Regatta in Beaver Creek, where they practice everyday. Hopefully this will give them an advantage in the water, and also some valuable hosting experience.
