The WAHS varsity boys soccer team ended the regular season with a 3-1 win over the Monticello Mustangs, a few days after a 0-0 tie against Charlottesville. They beat Waynesboro 3-1 in the first round of the Conference tournament. They lost, however, to Stuarts Draft 2-3 in the conference semifinals on Tuesday night. The Warrior’s path to states is not closed yet, though, as they will play an elimination game on Thursday for a spot in the regional tournament. The game will be at 6:00 at Broadway High School.

The WAHS girls varsity soccer team enters postseason play on a three game winning streak. Their last loss was at Fluvanna County, where they lost 0-1. The Warriors are 11-2-3 on the year, their other loss coming at Albemarle by four goals. The girls’ first round game at conferences went well, cruising to a 6-0 victory over Waynesboro. They won their second round game 2-0, advancing to the conference championship at Monticello High School on Thursday night. Goals were scored by Shannon Moore and Nichole Heon.
