The top seven cross country girls competed very well at the 3A state meet on November 14 at Great Meadows in the Plains. With Annie Taylor coming in fourth place and Chance Masloff finishing at thirteenth, Western was able to come in third place overall. Many of the girls achieved their season’s best time if not a personal record from their whole high school career so far.

Annie Lorenzoni, Erica Grupp, Taylor Catlett, Zoe Clay, and Deborah Ayres-Brown also raced at states. There were some very tough competitors, including Blacksburg, the number one girls team in the nation. The top five girls, Annie Taylor, Chance Masloff, Annie Lorenzoni, Erica Grupp, and Taylor Catlett, are still continuing their cross country season training to compete at Foot Locker the weekend after Thanksgiving.
