Field Hockey Season Wrap Up

Ben Masselli, Staff Writer

The 2014 Western Field Hockey team finished their season with an impressive 13-4 record, falling in the second round in the conference 29 tournament. Their final loss came to rival Charlottesville. Next season’s team looks promising as only three seniors, Rachel Brown, Ellie Allen, and Eileen Barber are graduating from this youthful team.

The young players will step up in the future and become important players for the Warriors. There will also be plenty of JV players called up to varsity next season, bringing their experience with them. This season had many memorable moments with their new head coach, Milo Oakland. He proved to be a great addition as he led the girls on a great run this fall, while giving them promise to go further in the next few seasons. WAHS hockey is only going to get better after a successful 2014 season.
